Lucy Cooke este zoologă, realizatoare și prezentatoare de filme documentare despre viața sălbatică pentru BBC, PBS, Animal Planet, Discovery și National Geographic. De asemenea, a fondat Sloth Appreciation Society, o organizație pentru protejarea leneșilor. Pe lângă articolele publicate în The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Daily Mail sau Huffington Post, a scris volumele A Little Book of Sloth (2013), The Power of Sloth (2014), Life în the Sloth Lane (2018) și Bitch: On the Female of the Species (2022).
